Smokeless fire, here’s how it works:

💨 1. Improved airflow
The heated air exits through holes at the edge of the bowl. This hot, pressurized air mixes with the smoke and causes secondary combustion. Tiny wood particles are efficiently burned, resulting in an almost smokeless flame.

✨ 2. Double wall technology
Air enters a cavity at the bottom of the fire pit and flows into the double wall. The inner and outer shells are heated by the fire, causing the air between the walls to rise.

🔥 3. Secondary combustion
The heated air exits through holes at the edge of the bowl. This hot, pressurized air mixes with the smoke and causes secondary combustion. Tiny wood particles are efficiently burned, resulting in an almost smokeless flame.

How does a smokeless fire pit work?
A smokeless fire pit uses double-wall technology, where air flows in through the lower openings and is heated between the inner and outer walls. This warm air then exits through the top openings, causing secondary combustion that minimizes smoke by efficiently burning even the smallest wood particles.
Are the fire pits really smokeless?
Our fire pits are virtually smoke-free, meaning they produce significantly less smoke than conventional fire pits. Thanks to double-wall technology and secondary combustion, even the smallest wood particles are efficiently burned, minimizing smoke production.
However, it’s important to note that after lighting the fire, it may take a few minutes for air circulation to fully kick in and the smoke to disappear. During this initial phase, there may be a small amount of smoke, but it quickly dissipates once optimal air flow is achieved.
Which fuels can I use?
Only use firewood in the fire pit. It's important that the wood is dry to reduce smoke. Hardwoods like beech, oak, or maple are best, as they burn longer and hotter, which increases the efficiency of the smokeless fire pit. Avoid damp or resinous wood.
How do I clean and care for my smokeless fire pit?
Allow the fire pit to cool down completely before removing the ash. Regularly empty the ash pan and wipe the inner and outer bowls with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning agents to prevent damaging the surfaces. An included maintenance oil can be applied to the bowls to ensure your fire pit remains protected and long-lasting.
Are smokeless fire pits safe to use?
Yes, smokeless fire pits are safe when used according to the instructions. Make sure they are placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep them away from flammable materials. Never leave the fire unattended and fully extinguish it before leaving the fire pit.
How long does a smokeless fire pit last?
With proper care and regular cleaning, a smokeless fire pit can last for many years. High-quality materials and sturdy construction contribute to the durability of NORLIVA fire pits.
Can I return my fire pit if I don't like it?
